xerotic keratitis

xerotic keratitis /zirot′ik/ [Gk, xeros, dry, keras, horn, itis, inflammation] , an inflammation of the cornea resulting from dryness of the conjunctiva. Underlying causes may be malnutrition, a deficiency of vitamin A, or autoimmune diseases.
