X-linked–dominant inheritance

X-linked–dominant inheritance, a pattern of inheritance in which the transmission of a dominant allele on the X chromosome causes a characteristic to be manifested. Hypophosphatemic vitamin D-resistant rickets is an example of such inheritance. X-linked–dominant inheritance closely resembles autosomal-dominant inheritance. Compare X-linked–recessive inheritance.
