urography

urography /yo̅o̅rog″rəfē/ [Gk, ouron + graphein, to record] , the radiographic examination of the urinary system. A radiopaque substance is injected intravenously or introduced through a catheter, and radiographs are taken as the substance is passed through or excreted from the part of the system being studied. Kinds include cystoscopic urography, intravenous pyelography, retrograde pyelography.
