Unverricht’s disease

Unverricht’s disease /un″vərikts, o͝on″ferishts/ [Heinrich Unverricht, German physician, 1853–1912] , an inherited condition characterized by progressive degeneration of gray matter, resulting in myoclonic epilepsy. It appears in patients 8 to 13 years of age and is marked by general neurologic and intellectual decline. Also called Unverricht-Lundborg disease.
