Compare walking belt. ▪ METHOD: An assistant grasps the belt from underneath with one hand on either side several inches away from the buckle. The patient leans forward and, on a predetermined count, pushes off a flat surface with feet and hands. ▪ OUTCOME CRITERIA: The belt is used as a support and not a device to pull the patient up to a standing position.
