sternoclavicular articulation

sternoclavicular articulation [Gk, sternon + L, clavicula, little key] , the double gliding joint between the sternum and the clavicle. It involves the sternal end of the clavicle, the superior and lateral part of the manubrium, the cartilage of the first rib, and six ligaments.
