siderosis /sid′ərō″sis/ [Gk, sideros + osis, condition] , 1. a variety of pneumoconiosis caused by the inhalation of iron dust or particles. 2. the introduction of color in any tissue caused by the presence of excess iron. 3. an increase in the amount of iron in the blood.
