See also selenium. ▪ INDICATIONS: It is prescribed for dandruff and for seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp and for treatment of tinea versicolor. ▪ CONTRAINDICATIONS: Acute scalp inflammation or known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibits its use. ▪ ADVERSE EFFECTS: Among the more serious adverse effects are dermatitis after prolonged skin contact and keratitis after accidental conjunctival contact.
