sarcoma botryoides /bot′rē·oi″dēz/ , a tumor derived from primitive striated muscle cells, occurring most frequently in young children and characterized by a painful edematous polypoid grapelike mass in the upper vagina or on the uterine cervix or the neck of the urinary bladder.
