pramipexole, an antiparkinson agent. ▪ INDICATIONS: It is used to treat parkinsonism. ▪ CONTRAINDICATIONS: Known hypersensitivity prohibits its use. ▪ ADVERSE EFFECTS: Life-threatening effects are hemolytic anemia, leukopenia, and agranulocytosis. Other adverse effects include psychosis, hallucination, depression, dizziness, constipation, impotence, and blurred vision. Common side effects include agitation, insomnia, nausea, anorexia, and orthostatic hypotension.
