perivascular spaces

perivascular spaces [Gk, peri, around; L, vasculum, little vessel, spatium, space] , spaces that surround blood vessels as they enter the brain. They communicate with the subarachnoid space. Also called Virchow-Robin spaces, Virchow’s spaces.
