odontodysplasia /-displā″zhə/ [Gk, odous + dys, bad, plasis, forming] , an abnormality in the development of the teeth, characterized by deficient formation of enamel and dentin. The teeth have a ghostlike appearance in radiographs or dental images. It most often affects the maxillary central and lateral incisors, usually on one side of the midline. Also called ghost teeth.
