microcide

microcide /mī″krəsīd/ , an antimicrobial flavoprotein enzyme. It has antibacterial activity only in the presence of glucose and oxygen as it reduces the oxygen to hydrogen peroxide. The enzyme is derived from Penicillium notatum and other fungi.
