micellar chromatography

micellar chromatography /mīsel″ər/ , a method of monitoring minute quantities of drugs in whole body fluids by using micellar or colloidal compounds to keep proteins in solution. The technique eliminates the need to remove proteins that usually interfere with chromatographic analysis of blood serum, urine, or saliva. Micellar chromatography is used to monitor levels of prescribed drugs, as well as illicit drugs.
