Meige’s disease

Meige’s disease /mezh′əz/ [Henri Meige, French physician, 1866–1940] , 1. dystonia of facial and oromandibular muscles with blepharospasm, grimacing mouth movements, and protrusion of the tongue, usually occurring in older women. Also called Brueghel’s syndrome, Meige’s syndrome. 2. autosomal-dominant familial form of lymphedema praecox. See lymphedema praecox.
