megalocystis /meg′əlōsis″tis/ [Gk, megas + kystis, bag] , an abnormal condition primarily affecting girls, characterized by an enlarged and thin-walled bladder. Surgical reduction of the size of the bladder or diversion of urine through the ileum may correct the condition. Also called megabladder, megacystis.
