liposarcoma /lip′ōsärkō″mə/ pl. liposarcomas, liposarcomata [Gk, lipos + sarx, flesh, oma, tumor] , a malignant growth of primitive fat cells that occurs in the deep soft tissue of the extremities and retroperitoneum. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma. Also called lipoma sarcomatodes.
