Kufs’ disease /ko̅o̅fs/ [H. Kufs, German psychiatrist, 1871–1955] , a rare nervous system disorder characterized by cerebromacular degeneration affecting intellectual function and hypertonicity and by progressive spastic paralysis affecting movement. Also called adult ceroid lipofuscinosis.
