Klebs-Löeffler bacillus

Klebs-Löeffler bacillus /klebz″ lef″lər/ [Theodore A.E. Klebs, German bacteriologist, 1834–1913; Friederich A.J. Löeffler, German bacteriologist, 1852–1915; L, bacillum, small rod] , the gram-positive asporogenic bacterium Corynebacterium diphtheriae, which has three cultural types according to severity of the cases.
