keratosis follicularis

keratosis follicularis, a group of several skin disorders characterized by keratotic papules that coalesce to form brown or black, crusted, wartlike patches. These vegetations may spread widely, ulcerate, and become covered with a purulent exudate. Treatment includes large doses of topical or oral retinoids and oral or topical corticosteroids. Also called Darier’s disease.
