jargon aphasia

jargon aphasia [Fr, jargonner + Gk, a + phasis, speech] , a form of speech in which several words are combined in a single word but in a jumbled manner with incorrect accents or words mixed with neologisms. Although outwardly incomprehensible, the speech may be meaningful when analyzed by a psychotherapist. It is noted in schizophrenia. Also called word salad.
