Ishihara color test

Ishihara color test /ish′ēhä″rə/ [Shinobu Ishihara, Japanese ophthalmologist, 1879–1963] , a test of color vision that uses a series of plates on which are printed pseudoisochromatic round dots in a variety of colors and patterns. People with normal color vision are able to discern specific numbers or patterns on the plates; the inability to pick out a given number or shape is symptomatic of a specific deficiency in color perception.
