interrogatories /in′tərog″ətôr′ēz/ [L, inter + rogare, to ask] , (in law) a series of written questions submitted to a witness or other person having information of interest to the court. The answers are transcribed and are sworn to under oath. Interrogatories are used during the pretrial period as a means of discovery.
