interpubic disk

interpubic disk /-pyo̅o̅″bik/ [L, inter + os pubis, pubic bone; Gk, diskos, flat plate] , the fibrocartilaginous plate connecting the opposed surfaces of the bodies of the pubic bones. Varying in thickness, it is strengthened by interlacing fibers and often contains a cavity that usually appears after the tenth year of life. Also called discus interpubicus.
