Heschl’s gyrus

Heschl’s gyrus /hesh″əl/ [Richard L. Heschl, Austrian pathologist, 1824–1881; Gk, gyros, turn] , any of several small gyri that run transversely on the upper surface of the temporal operculum of the insula of the cortex.
