hemoglobin Gower

hemoglobin Gower, a normal hemoglobin present in early embryonic life and disappearing before birth. It occasionally consists entirely of epsilon chains (ε4), but the usual forms are hemoglobin Gower-1, consisting of two zeta and two epsilon chains (ζ2ε2), and hemoglobin Gower-2, consisting of two alpha and two epsilon chains (α2ε2).
