gram-molecular mass

gram-molecular mass, a mass in grams numerically equal to the molecular weight of a substance or the sum of all the atomic masses in its molecular formula. For example, the gram-molecular weight of carbon dioxide (CO2) is 12 (atomic mass of carbon) + (2 × 16) (atomic mass of oxygen), or 44 g. See also mole, molecular weight.
