glucagonoma syndrome

glucagonoma syndrome /glo̅o̅′kəgonō″mə/ [Gk, glykys + agaein + oma, tumor] , a disease associated with a glucagon-secreting tumor of the islet cells of the pancreas. It is characterized by hyperglycemia, stomatitis, glossitis, anemia, weight loss, and a characteristic rash. Treatment is surgical removal of the tumor.
