INDICATIONS: It is prescribed in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder in adult patients and has unlabeled uses for treating depression and panic attacks in adults, and anxiety in children. CONTRAINDICATIONS: It should not be given to patients with allergy to fluvoxamine maleate, patients who use monoamine oxidase inhibitors, or patients with a history of seizures, suicide attempts, or mania. ADVERSE EFFECTS: The side effects most often reported include headache, sleepiness or insomnia, nausea, vomiting, and sexual dysfunction.
