FANCAP, (United States) a mnemonic device for helping student nurses learn to assess, provide, and evaluate direct patient care. It stands for fluids, aeration, nutrition, communication, activity, and pain. Occasionally a variant, FANCAS, is substituted, in which the S represents stimulation.
