epoophoron /ep′ō·of″əron/ [Gk, epi + oophoron, ovary] , a rudimentary structure that is situated in the mesosalpinx between the ovary and the uterine tube. The epoophoron is a persistent portion of the embryonic mesonephric duct. Also called parovarium.
