epiphyseal

epiphyseal /ep′ifiz″ē·əl, ipif′əsē″əl/ [Gk, epi, above, phyein, to grow] , pertaining to or resembling the epiphysis of a bone. It is the rounded end of a long bone located at its joint with adjacent bone. The epiphysis of the bone is covered in hyaline cartilage. Also spelled epiphysial. See also bone.
