dysthyroid orbitopathy /disthī′roid or′bitop′əthē/ [Gk, dys, difficult, thyreos, shield, eidos, form; L, orbita, wheel track + Gk, pathos, disease] , the inflammatory changes of the eye orbit associated with thyroid dysfunction, usually in Graves’ disease. Also called dysthyroid ophthalmopathy, Graves’ orbitopathy.
