duloxetine, a miscellaneous antidepressant. ▪ INDICATIONS: This drug is used to treat major depressive disorder and neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy. ▪ CONTRAINDICATIONS: Narrow angle glaucoma and known hypersensitivity to this drug prohibit its use. ▪ ADVERSE EFFECTS: Adverse effects of this drug include insomnia, anxiety, dizziness, tremor, fatigue, decreased appetite, decreased weight, thrombophlebitis, peripheral edema, constipation, diarrhea, dysphagia, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, dry mouth, colitis, gastritis, abnormal and delayed ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, urinary hesitation, photosensitivity, bruising, and swelling. A common side effect is abnormal vision.
