dermatitis herpetiformis

dermatitis herpetiformis, a chronic, severely pruritic skin disease with symmetrically located groups of red papulovesicular, vesicular, bullous, or urticarial lesions. It is thought to be an immunological response to dietary gluten. Treatment may include a diet free of gluten and the administration of sulfone, dapsone, sulfapyridine, or antipruritic drugs.
