cruciate anastomosis /kro̅o̅″shē·āt/ [L, crux, cross; Gk, anastomoein, to provide a mouth] , an anastomosis in the upper part of the thigh, formed between the first perforating branch of the profunda femoris artery, the inferior gluteal artery, and the lateral and medial femoral circumflex arteries.
