Croupette /kro̅o̅pet″/ , a brand name for a device that provides cool humidification with the administration of oxygen or of compressed air. The Croupette consists of a nebulizer with attached tubing that connects with a canopy to enclose the patient and contain the humidifying mist. The patient’s environment may be cooled by using a Croupette with its own refrigeration unit. This device is most often used with pediatric patients to relieve hypoxia and liquefy secretions.
