Conn’s syndrome

Conn’s syndrome [Jerome W. Conn, American physician, b. 1907; Gk, syn, together, dromos, course] , primary aldosteronism, characterized by excessive secretion of aldosterone with symptoms of headache, fatigue, nocturia, and polyuria. The patient may also experience hypertension, hypokalemic alkalosis, potassium depletion, and hypervolemia. It may be caused by adrenal hyperplasia or an aldosterone-secreting adenoma.
