congenital generalized fibromatosis

congenital generalized fibromatosis, the presence of small, hard, round fibromas of the subcutaneous and muscle tissues, the viscera, and the osseous systems, usually at birth. Visceral involvement may cause symptoms such as intestinal obstruction, diarrhea, and respiratory disturbances. Death is usually during the first few months of life. Also called infantile fibromatosis.
