chorea gravidarum /kôr″ē·əgrav′idär″əm/ , a type of movement disorder that occurs during the early months of pregnancy. It may be a form of Sydenham’s chorea associated with a history of rheumatic fever. More commonly, it is triggered in some women taking oral contraceptives.
