cholangiogram /kōlan″jē·əgram′/ , an x-ray image of the bile ducts produced after injection of a radiopaque contrast medium. A cholangiogram is routinely performed before or after biliary tract surgery. A postoperative x-ray image may be made after injecting an iodinated contrast medium through an indwelling T-tube. The medium also may be introduced directly into the biliary system or intravenously. See also cholangiography, cholecystography.
