Charcot’s fever /shärkōz″/ [Jean M. Charcot] , a syndrome characterized by recurrent chills and fever, jaundice, and abdominal pain in the right upper quadrant that occurs with inflammation of the bile ducts. It is caused by the intermittent impaction of a stone in the ducts.
