cerebrospinal pressure [L, cerebrum + spina + premere, to press] , the pressure of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system. It usually measures between 100 and 150 mm of H2O or 10 and 15 mm Hg and is measured by a manometer attached to the end of a needle after it has been inserted into the subarachnoid space via lumbar puncture (most commonly). See also cerebrospinal fluid.
