Carabelli’s cusp

Carabelli’s cusp [Georg Carabelli, Austrian dentist, 1787–1842] , an accessory cusp usually found on the mesiolingual cusp of a maxillary permanent first molar. It may be unilateral or bilateral and varies in size. It is commonly seen in persons of Caucasian ancestry but is rarely found in persons of Mongolian or Inuit heritage.
