balanitis xerotica obliterans /zirot″ikə oblit″ərans/ [Gk, balanos + itis + xeros, dry, tokos, labor; L, obliterare, to efface] , a chronic skin disease (lichen sclerosis et atrophicus) of the glans penis, characterized by a white indurated area surrounding the meatus, that may result in urethral stenosis. Treatment is with local antibacterial and antiinflammatory agents.
