artificial insemination—husband/male partner (AIH), artificial insemination in which the semen specimen is provided by the husband or male partner. The procedure is used primarily in cases of impotency, low sperm count, or a vaginal disorder or when the husband or male partner is incapable of sexual intercourse because of some physical disability.
