arteriography /ärtir′ē·og″rəfē/ [Gk, arteria, airpipe, graphein, to record] , a diagnostic imaging test used to observe blood flow within arteries and veins; the test consists of the production of images of vessels after a radiopaque contrast medium is introduced into the bloodstream or into a specific vessel by injection or through a catheter.
