aponeurotic fibroma, a firm, fixed nodule composed of fibroblastic tissue with finely stippled calcifications, not attached to the overlying skin and infiltrating into surrounding soft tissue. This recurrent benign tumor is seen mainly in people under 20 years of age, most often on the hand. Also called juvenile aponeurotic fibroma.
