apolipoprotein

apolipoprotein /ap′ōlip′ōprō″tēn/ [Gk, apo + lipos, fat, protos, first] , proteins that bind lipids (oil-soluble substances such as fat and cholesterol) to form lipoproteins. They transport the lipids through the lymphatic and circulatory systems.
