alpha1-antitrypsin test

alpha₁-antitrypsin test, a blood test useful for individuals with a family history of emphysema, since a familial tendency to have a deficiency of alpha₁-antitrypsin antienzyme exists. A similar deficiency also exists in children with liver disease.
